WEB SITE MISSION STATEMENT


This site is intended to entertain, inform, educate and assist you in choosing a Sidewinder
drive system that is perfect for you. Many visitors will quickly decide on their ideal
gearing and the type of chain and sprockets best suited for them. However, many visitors
will generate unanswered questions. This is to be expected.

The subject of gearing is very complex. The list of variables is staggering (i.e. rider
weight, tire size, engine and suspension mods, riding conditions, swingarm length,
terrain….. just to name a few).

As you will see on the pages that follow, we also offer many different sprocket and chain
options to choose from. Even if you don’t need help selecting the best gear ratio, you
may want more personal input in choosing your grade of sprocket or chain.

Our staff at Sidewinder headquarters has over seventy-five years cumulative experience
in helping riders and racers pick the best sprocket ratios, as well as the most appropriate
grade of system for their specific application. You can’t put this kind of knowledge in a
chart, on a graph, or on a website. For this reason we strongly recommend that you call
